Ashraf and Maqsood led the way, adding 105 runs for the second wicket before Alam wrapped up the chase.Earlier, Bahawalpur who chose to bat, made 264, thanks largely to half-centuries from Bilal Khilji and captain Kamran Hussain who consolidated the innings after a dismal start. Offspinner Aamer Yamin was the most impressive bowler for Multan, finishing with figures of 5 for 65, his first five-wicket haul.Hyderabad Hawks registered a massive, 150-run win over Quetta Bears, riding on centuries from Azeem Ghumman and Rizwan Ahmed and a five-wicket haul by left-arm spinner Kashif Bhatti.Ghumman and Ahmed shared a stand of 144 for the second wicket, taking their side to 260 for 2. In reply, the Quetta innings folded for a meager 110 in 33.5 overs. Taimur Ali was the only batsman to make more than 30 as the Hyderabad bowling, led by Bhatti, dominated. Bhatti finished with figures of 5 for 30, while Ghulam Yasin and Zahid Mahmood picked up two wickets apiece.Group BAn all-round performance from captain Khalid Usman helped Abbotabad Falcons beat Peshawar Panthers by 45 runs. Usman took 3 for 31 with his left-arm spin as Peshawar folded for 174 in reply to Abbotabad’s total of 219.Earlier Abbotabad, who chose to bat first, were tottering at 139 for 8 before Usman batted well with the lower order to take the score to 219. He scored 80 off 94 balls, including four fours and two sixes.Karachi Zebras registered an emphatic 92-run win over Lahore Lions. Opener Fakhar Zaman scored a quick century for Karachi and was ably supported by captain Faisal Iqbal as Karachi posted 314 for 6. The pair added 158 for the third wicket to effectively bat Lahore out of the match.In reply, Lahore were dismissed for 222 in the 45th over. The Lahore reply was shaky and although captain Azhar Ali and Fahad-ul-Haq tried to build the innings, the Karachi bowlers struck regularly to restrict them. Fast bowler Rumman Raees picked up three wickets for 21 runs for Karachi.A century from opener Awais Zia and an unbeaten 54 from Yasim Murtaza, who later picked up three wickets, set up a 66-run win for Rawalpindi Rams against Islamabad Leopards. Zia and Murtaza powered their side to a commanding 338 for 7.In reply, Islamabad fell short in spite of a hundred from Babar Azam, and were kept to 272 for 9. The chase began strongly but lost momentum after a cluster of wickets fell towards the end of the innings. Murtaza picked up 3 for 49, while Akhtar Ayub and Hammad Azam took two wickets each.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إسبانية، عن حديث فينيسيوس جونيور لاعب فريق ريال مدريد الأول لكرة القدم مع لاعبي أوساسونا أمس، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما بنهائي كأس ملك إسبانيا.

ريال مدريد فاز بهدفين مقابل هدف على أوساسونا في نهائي الكأس، وتوّج النادي الملكي بكاس ملك إسبانيا، الـ20 في تاريخه.

فينيسيوس كما جرت العادة، تعرض لاستفزازات من الجماهير ولاعبي أوساسونا، كما ظهر متوترًا في أوقات كثيرة من المباراة، قبل أن يصنع الفارق ويقود فريقه للفوز.

صحيفة “سبورت” الإسبانية، نقلت ما أفاد به برنامج شيرنجيتو الإسباني، وكشف حديث اللاعب البرازيلي مع لاعبي أوساسونا خلال المباراة التي جمعت بينهما في إشبيلية أمس.

وكشف البرنامج الإسباني، عن كلمات فينيسيوس، حيث قال لهم: “أنتم فريق صغير، كيف ستفوزون بالكأس وأنتم فريق صغير أمام ريال مدريد”.

تلك الكلمات استفزت لاعبي أوساسونا أثناء الدخول إلى غرفة الملابس في نفق الملعب، وهو ما جعلهم يحاولون الوصول والاشتباك باللاعب البرازيلي، قبل أن يمنعهم الأمن وزملائهم.

فتح الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم تحقيقًا في التصرفات التي قام بها يورجن كلوب، المدير الفني لفريق ليفربول، تجاه بول تيرني حكم مواجهة توتنهام أمس الأحد في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

كان ليفربول قد فاز بأربعة أهداف مقابل ثلاثة، ضد توتنهام على ملعب “الأنفيلد” في قمة منافسات الجولة الرابعة والثلاثين.

وسجل ديوجو جوتا هدف فوز ليفربول القاتل في الدقيقة 94، مما دفع يورجن كلوب إلى الركض مسرعًا ناحية الحكم الرابع حيث احتفل بقوة وانفعال.

وتسبب ذلك في حصول كلوب على بطاقة صفراء من حكم مباراة بول تيرني، وهو ما نتج عنه تصريحات هجومية من الألماني بعد اللقاء.

ودافعت رابطة التحكيم في إنجلترا، في الساعات الأولى من صباح اليوم الإثنين، عن بول تيرني ضد تصريحات يورجن كلوب.

من جهة أخرى، ذكرت صحيفة “ميرور” الإنجليزية، نقلًا عن شبكة “inews”، أن الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم أصبح طرفًا في الجدل الثائر بين كلوب والتحكيم.

وأوضحت أن الاتحاد الإنجليزي فتح تحقيقًا في المناوشات التي وقعت بين يورجن كلوب وبول تيرني، خلال مباراة ليفربول وتوتنهام.

وأشارت إلى أن الاتحاد الإنجليزي ينوي الاستماع إلى ما دار بين الطرفين، خاصة وأن كلوب اتهم بول تيرني بأن الأخير قال له إن طريقة احتفاله بهدف جوتا ليست جيدة.

Alastair Cook praised England’s character after they produced one of their finest Test victories in recent memory to level the series against India with a 10-wicket success in Mumbai.The win was all the more remarkable for coming off the back of the nine-wicket hammering they suffered in Ahmedabad last week when the pre-series predictions of England struggling to take wickets and battling against India’s spinners came true. However, they have turned their fortunes around, overcoming the home side before lunch on the fourth day, to keep alive their chance of a first series victory in India since 1985.”It was a tough week up in Ahmedabad and the character we have shown in the last three days has been fantastic,” Cook said at the presentation. “I just can’t fault the effort from the lads and the performance they have put in.”England also won the Test the hard way having lost the toss on a pitch seemingly tailor-made for India’s spinners, yet they were comprehensively outbowled by Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann who combined for 19 wickets in the match with Panesar claiming a career-best 11 for 210.When India fought their way to 327 on the second morning it was expected to be a very challenging total on a surface already gripping, but Kevin Pietersen produced arguably his finest Test innings, a scintillating 186, to secure a priceless lead of 86.”It was an important toss, but the way we bowled on the first day was fantastic and then the way Kevin took the game away from India – to get an 80-run lead was vital,” Cook said. “It was a fantastic innings and great to watch from the other end. We could almost have got more of a lead in the end. But the way Swanny and Monty bowled in the second innings when the pressure was on, to not let India get away, was fantastic.” When talking about his innings on the third evening, Pietersen was guarded in ranking its significance, well aware that the job was not quite finished for England. With victory completed he was more verbose but was just as quick to praise his team-mates.”Now that we’ve won, probably at the top,” he said of where the innings stands. “Yesterday I said it was a situation where we needed to win the Test match and hundreds feel a lot better when you win. Panesar and Swann were outstanding in the second innings, and Cooky didn’t talk about himself but he’s a magnificent cricketer. He’ll break every England record. We came to Mumbai, trained hard and worked hard. There’s a good united spirit in the dressing room.”For a couple of months at the end of England’s home season that united dressing appeared a long way away but a working relationship has been restored and a matchwinning hundred will keep the process moving the right away.”Thanks to the guys in the dressing room, the management, for sorting everything out,” Pietersen said. “Every day you put on an England jersey is a special day and we are so privileged as England cricketers. The spectators that travel around with us are magnificent and we couldn’t achieve things without them. Also the Indian support, it’s been brilliant and long may that continue.”

Derbyshire lost top spot in Division Two to Yorkshire but, thanks to Usman Khawaja’s half-century, edged closer to securing promotion

The combination of intermittent rain and live TV coverage generally leads to a lot of hanging around between umpires’ inspections, especially on a ground such as this where a flick of a floodlight control switch can make light meter readings irrelevant and bring cricket where there would otherwise be none.There was no such indecisiveness from Mark Benson and Stephen Gale, however. They abandoned play at 4.10pm, which meant Derbyshire were unable to prevent Yorkshire taking advantage of clearer skies at Chelmsford and moving ahead in the Division Two table, displacing the leaders from a position they have occupied since May.But Wayne Madsen, the Derbyshire captain, was not unduly concerned, not least because the unravelling of Kent’s chances against Glamorgan in Cardiff may well mean that his side already have enough points to be playing in Division One next season.Even if Kent were somehow were to manage a draw from what looks like an impossible situation, one more batting point will be enough to end Derbyshire’s exile after 12 consecutive Division Two seasons.The Division Two title, however, is an incentive to finish the season with a win and though Derbyshire still trail by 105 runs, with five wickets down, the presence of Usman Khawaja at the crease with an unbeaten 71 to build on against a ball now 48 overs old left Madsen reasonably optimistic.”It was frustrating not to be able to bat on this afternoon but there were signs the ball was starting to spin, which will bring our spinners into play for the next innings,” he said. “The weather is supposedly set fair for the next couple of days and we will be in a good position if we can get to them and hopefully past them.”The key here is to get through the first half-hour or hour without losing wickets but with the ball a little older it might assist us. It will be important to have Usman there after the first half an hour because he is playing a fantastic innings.”It is a bonus, too, for Derbyshire, who added 117 runs in the 30 overs possible, that one of the two wickets to fall was the nightwatchman, Tony Palladino, who made profitable use of his 90 minutes at the crease by making 58 before he chipped a ball from Sean Ervine direct to the fielder at mid-on.Palladino, the former Essex seamer, made a century against Australia A in the same role earlier in the season and demonstrated again that he is a capable batsman even under pressure, passing 50 in a first-class match for the fifth time in his career. There was some playing and missing during the opening overs, as you would expect, but once he had settled he began to hit the ball cleanly, picking up eight fours and pulling James Tomlinson, the left-arm seamer, for six twice in the space of three balls.Dan Redfern, who never looked comfortable, gave Ervine the second wicket when he edged one to second slip.Derbyshire still have some work to do to achieve parity with Hampshire’s 272 but Khawaja, in good enough form now that he might prefer the season to go on a little longer, played with the kind of calm authority required, while following Palladino’s lead with a touch of aggression from time to time. He hooked a short ball from David Griffiths for six and lofted the left-arm spinner Liam Dawson into the seats at deep midwicket.The Pakistan-born left-hander, the first Muslim to play for Australia, has passed fifty four times in his seven matches since replacing Martin Guptill as Derbyshire’s overseas player, converting one of them to a hundred. If Khawaja was showing the benefit of his experience, Madsen admitted that nerves among the younger players had been a factor to which the Derbyshire coaching staff had needed to pay attention this week.”It is the biggest game a lot of our guys have played in their careers so it is difficult not to feel under pressure,” Madsen said. “It is the responsibility of the coaches and myself to keep the guys as focused as possible. We have played good cricket all season and we deserve to be in this position because of it. We have reiterated to the team to just concentrate on what we have been doing up to now.”It is hard not to have a sneaky little look at what is going on around the country, especially when you have the rain breaks, but we do have to try to focus on what is going on here. It doesn’t matter about losing the lead in the division overnight. What matters is to be in a good position where we could potentially get a result on Friday.”
